Conducting a user study to identify the issues in the current system.
The objective of the user study is to observe and recognize the issues and identify the gap between the current system and current need affecting on the mobile work of the medical representatives.
In depth user study was conducted by observing tasks and processes involved in the normal working day of medical representatives. Participants were observed while using two different systems for information retrieval and daily reporting activities.
Systems used for information retrieval and reporting
- PDA and Infrared/Bluetooth enabled CDMA mobile phone
- Web based system
The user study was conducted in two parts.
- Field Study
In the first part our research team accompanied the medical representatives on field to study the tasks and activities involved in a normal working day a medical representative.
- Interview
Second part was to interview and discuss with the medical representatives about the system in use and process involved in their daily activity. During the interview participants were asked about the issues they face while at work.
