The field tests are done in two phases.
- The first phase is Active Observation in a real use situation with user doing their real tasks. Active observation means that the researcher is not just passively looking what user is doing, but actively interacting with the user by asking questions and double-checking any interpretations.
- The second phase is an Interview related to the usability of the software. The discussion is supported with screenshots of the actual software and questionnaires.
