Usability in the Middle East, though in its infancy, is growing in leaps and bounds. A rapidly growing and increasingly sophisticated market, the need to develop products and services that are designed based on the Arabic users think and work has taken centre stage.

There are many key factors why usability has become so important. One example is that Arabic and Farsi text runs left to right. This has a major impact on keyboard layouts of mobile devices, website navigations and so on. Another reason is that there was a need to shift the mindset from 'Build it and they will come' to 'Build It Right the first time round, and they will come, again and again'.Though concept of user research is still fairly new and there is now a realization that if you build it right the first time round for your users, you will gain tremendous return on your investment through returning repeat users.
